525,600 ways to ruin a film
Long time no blog! I've been quite busy I suppose. Did quite a few hours at Charlie's this week and had all my touch games on as well. The skies have cleared up so I've been able to walk in to work which is great. Sometimes at the end of the day there are doughnuts left which we can take home cos they only last one day so with the walking it all balances out nicely! I have been officially accepted into my course at uni which is pretty exciting. Gotta ring Centrelink and see if they'll let me have some youth allowance while I study... Things are pretty sweet at the moment because I am not paying rent so I've been putting away the equivalent amount each week, gotta save while I can. Last night I went out with my mate and had a few beers and a progressive dinner. Nachos at the Austral, a hot bun at the markets and dumplings at the Grace while watching an awful musical called Rent. I am seriously considering bumping Daredevil from it's position as number one on my Worst Film Ever list it was so bad. For a start they were just singing everything - do they know that people are allowed to talk in musicals? You don't need to sing it all, just every now and then! Secondly it was just a shit story with more cliches than you could poke a stick at. They were trying to say something about a lot of things, (mostly AIDS it would appear since they made every single character have the illness) and they got a bit confused and bascially ended up saying a whole bunch of crap that made no sense whatsoever and left me wishing they would all just hurry up and die so it could be over. Maybe I can make a new category and have Rent as Worst Musical and Daredevil can still be Worst Film because I'm not ready to determine that Colin Farrel's Bullseye character was any less ridiculous than the lesbian's Cow Jumped Over the Moon protest song... The most prominant song in Rent is a vomit worthy number about how to measure a year of life (or 525,600 minutes as they were fond of saying). Apparently we should measure it in L---O-------------------V-E!!
