Bobbie Bobster

Last night was quite fun! Saw Bob Evans at the Gov. I don't really know his music but my friend insisted that it was quite easy to get along with, and it was. Apparently he gets mixed up with Josh Pyke a lot - not really sure why. I've seen Josh Pyke perform live too and they're very different, not only in appearance but vocally. Bob is a lot more nasal live than you'd expect by listening to his CD. His warm up act was a South African fellow called Farrell Pusskin (I think, it is quite an unusual name and I'm not sure if I have the spelling and everything right! He was tops though, told a few funnies about meeting Missy Higgins in SA and was generally quite charming. My friend spent the whole time demanding that he speak more so she could listen to his accent... Apparently the South African accent holds some irresistable appeal for her, much like most people crane their necks to see who's being loaded into an ambulance, she cannot stop listening. We had several drinks but wound it up pretty early with a taxi ride home for which I owe my friend dearly I would say!
