Maw, another Saturday. Last night I spent a very satisfactorily lazy evening watching DVDs and eating Indian at a mate's house. We watched 3 movies, one of which was a shocking kids movie. It was seriously bad, called The Thief Lord, yeah, dunno why that turned out to be a disappointment with a title like that! This morning I slept a little bit late and then spent an hour sulking about the weather being so cold. I took a really long shower, which I know is bad, but it is the only way I can get warm these days. Yesterday arvo I went to the Aquatic Centre in Nth Adelaide and did some laps and then just spent as long as I could without dying in the dry sauna getting warm! It felt so nice to feel completely warm and toasty all over. Bit expensive though, almost $6 just for one swim! Tonight I am supposed to be heading out for dinner with a friend and her group of mates, but frankly I feel a bit too cold for it. Short of wearing my trackie daks and big daggy jumpers out I will just freeze and it hardly seems worth it. How do people dress warmly AND well in winter? I don't know how it's done. If I look nice, I am freezing, and if I feel warm, I look like a homeless person who has just thrown on every item of clothing they own. Clearly I shouldn't have thrown my warm jacket out at the airport before I left Japan. I knew I would regret that! Can't afford to buy another one now and I really really need it! All cushiony and soft, it's hard to find jackets like that for only $50 here.
Ok, I'll stop whinging now and just be delighted that it's stopped raining long enough for me to get out of the house and run around. I've got that Cooped Up feeling.
